Independent engineering
NWH
Independently owned ERP, integration, and analytics platform for a distribution business and its retail-partner connections.
Context
A business system requiring dependable inventory, order, integration, administrative, and analytics capabilities.
Accountability
Own requirements, roadmap, architecture, security, development, review, testing, deployment, and production operations.
Architecture and delivery model
- 1 Java 21 / Spring 6 service-layer monolith and backend-for-frontend, with a designed migration path to microservices across AWS and Hetzner.
- 2 Responsive JSP/jQuery administration interface and React client application.
- 3 MariaDB with EclipseLink JPA, explicit data contracts across APIs and EDI, CI/CD, and observability.
Operations and evidence
- Approximately 50,000 daily requests through the regular user/API layer, plus hundreds of EDI documents through separate integration endpoints and limited-audience AI traffic.
- Production deployments approximately every two weeks through GitHub Actions and Docker Compose.
- Diagnosed and fixed a database migration regression in approximately five hours; an hourly process fell from more than 60 minutes to four minutes.
